SEE Telecom provided the radio coverage of the newly opened Sinifaná tunnel in Colombia.
The radio communication system is designed to perform the radio coverage of the two-tubed tunnel (1375m long and 1430m long) and includes:
- Eight FM channels with emergency break-in feature enabling transmission of life and pre-recorded emergency messages
- Four VHF duplex service channels
- One local VHF duplex service channel
The Sinifanà tunnel is a part of the Pacífico 1 highway. It aims to boost the economy of the southwest of the Antioquia Department. The official opening and inauguration ceremony of the tunnel were held on 10 June 2021.
