In a significant step towards improving public safety and operational efficiency, SEE Telecom, in collaboration with Koario, has successfully implemented a state-of-the-art radio communication system within the André Liautaud tunnel in Nice, France. This installation represents a crucial upgrade to the tunnel’s infrastructure, ensuring that both emergency services and operating teams have access to reliable and secure communication channels at all times.
The Liautaud Tunnel: A Vital Artery for Nice
The Liautaud tunnel, spanning 2,770 meters in length and varying between 8.5 and 11 meters in width, serves as a key underground passage from the Promenade des Anglais to the Avenue des Sapeurs-Pompiers in Nice. This unidirectional tunnel accommodates one or two lanes of traffic, with speed limits set at 50 km/h, reducing to 30 km/h at the entry and exit ramps. Managed directly by the Metropolis of Nice, the tunnel plays a critical role in the city’s transportation network.
